Skin Cancer Treatment
Moles and non-invasive skin cancers can be removed surgically. Benign mole removal is a cosmetic procedure and oftern determined by individuals desire for removal. The removal of a mole is often a trade off for the scar that replaces the mole, so that one needs to choose between retaining the mole or its replacement with a minimally visible scar.
On the other hand, skin cancers should always be removed and sent to a pathologist for microscopic determination and confirmation. A well-healed and minimally visible scar should be expected in most cases following excision and repair.
