Alysha, Registered Nurse

alysha_photo Raised in California and schooled at the University of Pennsylvania - where she received her Bachelor of Science degree and R.N. training and certification - Alysha is a valued member of our practice team. A highly experienced nurse who helps take care of our patients both before and after their cosmetic procedures, she specialized in critical care nursing at St. John’s in Oxnard, CA prior to joining our team. Alysha assists in the O.R., watches over patients during their brief stay in the recovery room, and sees them again during their follow-up (post op) visits.

“As a patient care specialist, it’s my pleasure to meet with our patients after their initial consultation with Dr. Aboolian. I go over everything they need to know to prepare for their cosmetic surgery, answering questions, setting up lab work, and providing them with all the information they need to be fully informed and ready to go. Having someone who follows them through the process is meaningful to our patients, and it’s an extremely rewarding aspect of my work. I see patients before, during, and after, so I have the privilege of witnessing the changes they achieve in their appearance and to share their excitement.”

Alysha notes that each patient has a unique set of questions, hopes, and goals, and that the importance of creating an environment in which ongoing communication is made possible enables a patient to feel safe and comfortable. “We have a personal, warm environment here and a strong belief in following our patients through the whole process,” she says. “I love people and working with Dr. Aboolian is wonderful because he takes great care of his patients. He’s understanding, caring, and a wonderful mentor to our team, too. Our patients can tell that Dr. Aboolian really cares about them. He calls them every day after their procedures just to check on them and answer their questions and they feel so good about that. We’re all checking in with them and making sure they have what they need. That’s probably why nearly all of our patients are referred by former patients. They trust us."

Heather, Patient Coordinator and Office Manager

heather_photo As Patient Coordinator and Office Manager, Heather is always in ongoing communication with patients in our practice. Heather meets patients during initial consultations and then handles the scheduling of surgical procedures. She works with clients to make sure each patient is a good candidate for the procedure they want, and that their expectations are realistic.

Raised in San Diego, Heather went to culinary school and worked as a private chef before entering the world of aesthetic medicine. She is proud to point out that former patients have referred nearly all of our patients to the practice. “It’s an exciting place to work." Dr. Aboolian’s patients come for breast augmentations, liposuction, rhinoplasty, and other cosmetic surgery procedures as well as for injectable fillers like Juvederm, mole removal, and other non-surgical treatments.

"Our practice does no advertising whatsoever; it’s just word-of-mouth from our former patients to their friends, family members, and co-workers. They see what can be done to significantly improve someone’s appearance and they hear about how well our patients were treated here.” Heather says that patients of the practice range widely in age and appearance goals, and that many former patients return for additional procedures over time. She feels it’s extremely gratifying to see a patient after they’ve lost a lot of weight and had a body lift, for instance, or other procedures that give them the body they have longed for. “Their lives are changed forever. They’ve been bothered by the way they look for years and suddenly they have a body they feel proud of. They’re just so happy! We see this again and again – whether the patient is having a full tummy tuck or a mini tummy tuck, a breast augmentation or breast reduction – whatever they need to get them to where they want to be. They finally have the surgery and they are just transformed, outside and inside. It’s a privilege to witness this week after week.”

Heather notes that the level of care patients receive from the entire staff is important, but the heart of the practice is Dr. Aboolian. “He’s a great surgeon, but he’s also a great person,” she says. “He really is patient-oriented; it’s just the way he is. He calls patients regularly after their procedures, checks up on them, and watches over them and our patients truly appreciate this. He cares. And those of us who work with Dr. Aboolian really want our patients to be happy. That’s why it’s such a good place to work. We see a lot of happiness here!”
