Latisse

Latisse is a revolutionary eyelash enhancement product commonly used by Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, California patients.

Latisse is a revolutionary eyelash enhancement product created by Allergan Inc, maker of Botox and Juvederm. By keeping your lashes in a perpetual growth phase, Latisse creates darker, longer, fuller eyelashes in a few weeks. You just brush it on once each day to the base of your upper eyelids using a special sterile applicator.

What is Latisse?

Latisse is bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.03 percent. It’s very similar to a popular glaucoma drug called Lumigan. When physicians noticed lash-enhancing effects associated with Lumigan, they began investigating its active ingredients for cosmetic purposes.

Who can use Latisse?

Latisse is designed to treat a condition called hypotrichosis, i.e. inadequate eyelashes. If you are not satisfied with the length or fullness of your eyelashes, you may be a good candidate for Latisse.

How Latisse Works

Latisse is sold in a one-month supply. You brush it on to the base of your upper eyelids once daily using the provided applicator. Most patients choose to do this at night. Proper and consistent application is important:

  1. Cleanse your face, remove contacts and makeup and apply any skincare products you normally use.
  2. Hold the Latisse applicator and place a drop on the tip.
  3. Brush the product on the base of the upper eyelid, traveling from the inner area of the eyelid outward.
  4. Blot any excess product and then dispose of the applicator.

With consistent use, you will start to see changes in your eyelashes after about 8 to 12 weeks. The eyelashes will become fuller, darker and longer. After 16 weeks, you should see the full results.

How long do the results last?

To maintain the results, you need to apply the drug consistently. If you stop using Latisse, your eyelashes will gradually return to their original state.

Are there side effects with Latisse?

Follow your doctor’s instructions to minimize the risk of side effects. The most common side effects reported with Latisse include itching and eye redness, occurring in about 4 percent of patients. Less common side effects include skin darkening, eye irritation, dryness, and redness.
