Ear & Ear Lobe Surgery
Procedures to achieve more aesthetically pleasing ears, include pinning the lobes for earrings, repairing torn ears or ear lobes, reducing ear lobe size, and correction of prominent or protruding ears (otoplasty). The most common ear surgery for adults is the repair of torn ear lobes as a result of ear tissue from wearing large earrings or trauma to the ear itself. Most corrective ear or ear lobe surgery can be performed in the office under local anesthesia. Otoplasty, however, is usually performed in a surgical suite under deeper levels of anesthesia.
