Botox, a protein derived from botulism toxin bacteria, relaxes muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles. Examples of such wrinkles are the “frown lines” seen on the forhead between the eyebrows, the “crow’s feet” seen around the eyes and the “worry lines” on the forehead. After treatment, the overlying skin becomes smooth and wrinkle free within 24 to 72 hours. This is a quick office procedure which lasts three to five months.
