Body Lift

Body lift is a tightening and pulling of the skin that drapes the body. In this sense it is similar to a facelift in that both involve elevating specific layers adjacent to the skin and deeper, to their original position and then excising the extra or loose skin, thus removing wrinkles and sagging skin. This procedure lifts all the sagging or loose skin over the front and back of the thighs and also lifts the buttocks. The loose skin over the thighs is lifted  from the above the knee, thus allowing for a smoother and tighter skin over the legs. A flatter and slimmer abdominal contour is obtained, since abdominoplasty is part of the procedure. The final scar is a circumferential, permanent, thin line that is hidden in the bikini line. This line, like most scars, will fade away over eight to twelve months, becoming less obvious.

Liposuction of the abdomen, back and upper arms may also be performed concurrently with the body lift. Aftercare recuperation is recommended. Patients start to ambulate and physically move around almost immediately, with gradual increases in activity during the next several days. Usually two weeks is required for recovery
